"Home Improvement Services" vs "Handyman Services"?
Basically they are the same thing. Or supposed to be anyway. The word “Handyman” was originally used to describe someone who was well experienced in several different trades. Someone you could call on to handle all facets of your project without having to deal with several different contractors. But over the years, too many “Chucks with a Truck”, a small tool belt, a hand lettered sign proclaiming them to be a handyman, and little or no knowledge of how to properly do the work, has not helped the reputation of an originally very competent and valuable service.
So when I started this business here in Central Arkansas (after 20+ years of Paul’s Handyman Service LLC in Phoenix, Arizona), I decided to call it a “Home Improvement Service” instead of a “Handyman Service”. It is more serious and professional. Because that’s what I am: a Serious Professional. And I Will Get Your Job Done Right…The First Time!
